Elzear Brochu, pastor of Notre Dame parish in Southbridge, promises Saint Anne to propagate her devotion if she would cure him. 1883: Msgr. Brochu erects Saint Anne Church for the French speaking Catholics of Fiskdale 1883: Fr. John Kremmin of Southbridge erects Saint Patrick Church for the English speaking and Irish Catholics of Fiskdale 1886: Fr. Jules Gratton is named first pastor of both churches 1887: Mrs. J. B. Houde is cured of dropsy at Saint Anne 1888: First procession in thanksgiving to Saint Anne for the cure of Mrs. Houde 1893: Saint Anne Church acquires authentic relic of Saint Anne 1913: Mrs. Houde dies at the foot of Saint Anne statue where she had been cured 25 years earlier 1916: Religious article store erected by Fr.
